This bill exempts persons with disabilities and persons who are homeless from paying identification card fees. The bill requires the Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, in consultation with the federal Social Security Administration, to determine proof of disability for the fee waiver. The bill also requires the Chief Administrator to waive identification card fees for persons who are homeless and submit proof of temporary residence through a social worker or emergency shelter coordinator. The bill also requires the Commission to report annually to the Office of Homelessness Prevention on the number of fee waivers provided to homeless individuals.
