This bill authorizes the town of Scituate to use approximately 7.11 acres of the Ellis Estate land, known as the public safety complex, for general municipal purposes. As mitigation, the town must place several parcels of land totaling around 36 acres under the protections of Article 97 of the Massachusetts Constitution, which preserves land for conservation purposes. Additionally, the town must grant a conservation restriction in perpetuity on approximately 70 acres of the Ellis Estate land and 14.2 acres of the school committee land, also for conservation purposes.
