This bill establishes daylight saving time as the year-round standard time in the state of New York and the city of New York. The bill amends the General Construction Law and the Administrative Code of the City of New York to align the state and city's standard time with the federal Uniform Time Act, which provides for the year-round observation of Eastern Daylight Time, commonly known as daylight saving time. The bill's provisions will only take effect once Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania enact identical legislation, or if those states have already done so, in which case the bill will take effect immediately.
