This bill aims to extend the Hurricane Loss Mitigation Program, which provides grants to Tallahassee Community College to enhance and improve manufactured and mobile homes in Florida to make them more resilient against hurricane damage. The bill delays the future repeal of this program from 2021 to 2031, and removes language that previously considered the rates resulting from this program as non-competitive for the purposes of Citizens Property Insurance Corporation's rate-setting. The bill also requires Citizens Property Insurance Corporation to provide actuarially reasonable discounts, credits, or other rate differentials for properties where hurricane mitigation measures have been implemented.
