This bill requires the Department of Natural Resources to study and make recommendations to the Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Interim Committee on ways to increase public education and outreach regarding the risks of radon gas and how to mitigate Utah residents' exposure to radon based on a cost-benefit analysis. The department is required to consult with various public and private entities, including the Utah Department of Environmental Quality, the Utah Department of Health, and experts in radon testing and mitigation, real estate, construction, and geology. The department must provide a status report in November 2021 and a final report with recommendations, including any proposed legislation, in the first interim meeting of 2022.
