This bill relates to the public release of grand jury documents. It amends the criminal procedure law to require the court to make the district attorney's legal instructions and charges submitted to the grand jury available to the public upon request, after the grand jury has reached a final decision on any charges. The names of witnesses and any information that could identify witnesses will be redacted if the court determines there is a reasonable likelihood that public release of such information would endanger any individual.
