This bill: Excludes certain hot water supply boilers from the provisions of the boiler safety act, creates the elevator safety act to require safety standards, permit requirements, and insurance coverage for elevator contractors, requires inspections of elevators and licensure for persons installing, repairing and inspecting elevators, creates an elevator safety advisory board, and establishes duties for the state fire marshal. The bill also amends the boiler safety act to provide exceptions for the applicability of the act and specifications for certain hot water supply boilers. The elevator safety act establishes safety standards, licensure requirements, and inspection procedures for elevators in Kansas, and creates a new elevator safety fee fund to be administered by the state fire marshal.
