This bill revises the practices that an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) may engage in autonomously. The bill allows APRNs to perform the general functions of an APRN as well as acts within their specialty, rather than limiting them to primary care practice. It also allows APRNs to admit patients to a health care facility, manage their care, and discharge them, unless prohibited by federal law. Additionally, the bill permits APRNs to provide signatures, certifications, stamps, verifications, affidavits, or endorsements that are otherwise required to be provided by a physician, except for issuing a physician certification under Florida's medical marijuana law.
