This bill amends the Government Code to expand Medicaid reimbursement for telemedicine, telehealth, and other technology-related health care services. It requires the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to implement reimbursement for these services in various Medicaid programs and benefits by January 1, 2022. The bill also allows Medicaid managed care organizations to reimburse providers for home telemonitoring services and conduct certain member assessment and service coordination activities via telecommunication. Additionally, it requires HHSC to establish guidance for managed care plans to communicate with enrolled members via text message.
