This bill: 1. Moves the position of the Coordinator of Mental Health Accessibility from the State Department of Mental Health to the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), and requires all expenses of the Coordinator to be paid out of funds appropriated to DFA. 2. Allows the Coordinator to hire staff, subject to the approval of the Executive Director of DFA, rather than the State Board of Mental Health. 3. Exempts any personal service contracts entered into by the Coordinator of Mental Health Accessibility through June 30, 2024 from the rules and regulations of the Personal Service Contract Review Board. The purpose of these changes is to provide administrative and financial oversight of the Coordinator position under DFA, while also granting the Coordinator greater flexibility in hiring staff and entering into contracts to fulfill their duties under this chapter.
