This bill authorizes the New Mexico Livestock Board to conduct meat inspections to ensure the safety and quality of meat for human consumption. Specifically, the bill amends existing law to grant the Livestock Board additional powers, including the ability to adopt and promulgate rules for meat inspection to ensure the safety and quality of meat, and to regulate the importation, manufacture, and use of sera, vaccines, and other biologicals intended for livestock. The bill also allows the Livestock Board to set fees for any services it deems necessary that are not already set by statute.
