This bill creates the Women Veterans Advisory Committee to support and assist the Division of Veterans' Services in locating, educating, and advocating for all women veterans in New York State. The committee will have eight members, with appointments made by the Governor, the Temporary President of the Senate, the Speaker of the Assembly, and the Minority Leaders of the Senate and Assembly. The committee is tasked with identifying the unique needs of women veterans, conducting outreach and education, advocating for women veterans' programs and policies, and providing recommendations to the state government. The Division of Veterans' Services is required to help support the committee's activities, and the committee must submit an annual report on its work.
