This bill includes nurse practitioners as a provider of services for purposes of collaborative drug therapy management and makes the authorization for pharmacists to perform such management permanent. The bill amends the education law to allow nurse practitioners, in addition to physicians, to enter into written agreements or protocols with pharmacists to authorize collaborative drug therapy management. The bill also makes the authorization for pharmacists to perform collaborative drug therapy management permanent, rather than having it expire and be repealed.
