This bill enacts the "Nurse Safety Work Act," which requires hospitals to implement safety procedures to ensure that hospital staff is never alone with a patient unless the staff member has a tracking device that can be used to signal for assistance, or additional hospital staff is within a close distance or range and able to hear and assist a co-worker's call for help. The purpose of this bill is to improve the safety and security of hospital staff when they are working alone with patients.
