This bill requires that each police officer and peace officer involved in the execution of a search warrant wear a functioning and unobstructed body camera that shall be active prior to and throughout the execution of the search and during any related action following the execution of the search warrant. The bill also requires that any police officer or peace officer entering a property or premises, regardless of consent or emergency circumstances, must wear and have an active body camera or other video recording device prior to and throughout their occupation of the property or premises, and during any related action following. The key terms "police officer" and "peace officer" are defined in reference to the state's criminal procedure law.
