This bill amends the Telemedicine Coverage Act to provide coverage for medically necessary and clinically appropriate telemedicine services. It defines key terms such as "clinically appropriate," "medically necessary," and "telemedicine." The bill also mandates that telemedicine services delivered by in-network primary care providers, registered dietitian nutritionists, and behavioral health providers must be reimbursed at rates not lower than in-person services. Additionally, the bill prohibits health insurers from imposing more stringent requirements on telemedicine services compared to in-person care. The bill further requires the health insurance commissioner to promulgate rules and regulations, and health insurers to collect and report telemedicine data to the commissioner. Lastly, the bill subjects dentists practicing telemedicine to the same standard of care as dental services provided in person.
