This bill establishes the Council for Treatment Equity within the Office of Addiction Services and Supports. The Council, in conjunction with the Treatment Equity Advisory Board, is tasked with setting priorities to achieve treatment equity in racially and ethnically diverse areas, as well as for vulnerable populations, across the state. The Council will analyze data to identify the causes of treatment disparities and develop and implement strategies to address them. The bill also outlines the composition and duties of the Treatment Equity Advisory Board, which will provide expertise and input to the Council, and requires the Council to submit annual reports on its findings, recommendations, and activities.
