This bill amends Michigan's Public Health Code to prohibit health professionals from performing invasive bodily examinations on anesthetized or unconscious patients, unless certain conditions are met. These conditions include obtaining written, informed consent from the patient or their authorized representative, or in cases where the patient is unconscious and the examination is necessary for diagnostic or treatment purposes. The bill also prohibits students in health profession training programs from performing such examinations without supervision. The bill will only take effect if another related bill, Senate Bill No. 6, is also enacted into law.
