This bill requires certain county boards of education in Maryland (Baltimore City, Charles County, Prince George's County, Washington County, and Wicomico County) to collect and submit data on pregnant, expecting, and parenting students to the Institute for Innovation and Implementation in the University of Maryland School of Social Work. The Institute must analyze the data, document and evaluate the professional development activities and policy changes related to these students, and use the information to develop recommendations for the General Assembly on legislation, regulations, and policy initiatives needed to address issues regarding policies assisting pregnant, expecting, and parenting students. The Institute must submit interim and final reports of its findings and recommendations to the General Assembly.
