This bill makes several changes to the Utility Operators Certification Act in New Mexico. It adds new categories of certification services, including certification testing application review, equivalency application review, and examination review. The bill also provides for late fees on renewal applications and establishes a "public water supply system operator and public wastewater facility operator fund" to be used for administering and enforcing the act. Additionally, the bill allows the department to endorse for certification, without examination, an operator who holds a valid license or certification from another jurisdiction with standards equal to or exceeding those of New Mexico.
