This bill amends the Public School Capital Outlay Act to allow the state to match the cost of installing photovoltaic (solar power) systems as part of building system renovations or replacements for public schools. The bill prioritizes applications for renovating or replacing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems that include a photovoltaic system, as well as applications for systems that need to be updated to improve air handling in response to a viral or bacterial epidemic. The state's share of the cost for approved building system projects that include a photovoltaic system will be calculated based on an established methodology.
