This bill increases the employer contribution for group health insurance for school districts, charter schools, and other participating entities in the Public School Insurance Authority. The bill raises the minimum employer contribution from 75% to 80% for employees earning less than $15,000 annually, from 70% to 75% for those earning $15,000 to $20,000, and from 65% to 70% for those earning $20,000 to $40,000. It also appropriates $3.644 million from the general fund for fiscal year 2022 to distribute to these entities to cover the increased employer costs. The effective date of the bill is July 1, 2021.
