AI Summary

This bill provides several key changes to traffic citation payments in New Mexico. It allows people charged with a traffic citation to pay the penalty assessment any time before their court appearance, rather than requiring payment within 30 days. It also requires that traffic citations be submitted to the appropriate court within 5 days of issuance, and clarifies that a uniform traffic citation is a summons. Additionally, the bill removes a provision that allowed the Taxation and Revenue Department to administratively suspend certain permits or licenses for non-payment of penalty assessments.
