This bill enacts the Physical Therapy Licensure Compact, which facilitates interstate practice of physical therapy and improves public access to physical therapy services. The compact allows licensed physical therapists and physical therapist assistants to obtain a "compact privilege" to practice in other member states, while preserving each state's ability to regulate the profession. The bill establishes the Physical Therapy Compact Commission to administer the compact and promulgate rules, and provides for oversight, dispute resolution, and enforcement mechanisms. The bill declares an emergency, allowing it to take effect immediately upon enactment.
