This bill amends Maryland's transportation laws to require that a person charged with reckless or negligent driving that contributes to an accident resulting in the death of another must appear in court and cannot prepay the fine. The bill defines reckless driving as driving in a wanton or willful disregard for the safety of persons or property, and negligent driving as driving in a careless or imprudent manner that endangers property or the life or person of any individual. The bill imposes a fine of up to $1,000 for a conviction of reckless driving.
