This bill creates the Sierra County Special Hospital District in New Mexico. The legislature has determined that the current ownership and financial control of Sierra Vista Hospital in Sierra County is no longer in the best interest of the health care of the residents, and that a special hospital district would better serve the healthcare needs of the county. The bill outlines that the district will consist of all of Sierra County, and that the board of county commissioners and county clerk can take necessary actions to provide for the election of a board of trustees, which will then be subject to the provisions of the Special Hospital District Act, except for those pertaining to the creation of the district, as this bill has already established the Sierra County Special Hospital District.
