This bill amends existing law to encourage landowners to make their land available for recreational purposes by limiting the landowner's liability towards persons entering their land for those purposes. The bill expands the definition of "land" to include various natural and man-made features, and "recreational purposes" to include a wide range of activities. It also clarifies that the provisions apply to landowners who grant public access for recreational purposes through an agreement with a governmental entity, as well as to land subject to a conservation easement. The bill emphasizes that landowners have no duty to keep the land safe or warn of dangers, and are not liable for injuries or damages caused by recreational users, unless the landowner directly charges for access.
