This bill requires hospitals in Arizona to provide notice of their visitation policies to patients or their representatives. If a hospital's policy allows any in-person visitation, it must facilitate clergy visits for religious purposes if authorized by the patient or their representative, subject to reasonable health and safety precautions. If the hospital does not allow any in-person visitation, it must facilitate virtual clergy visits using communication technology. The bill is an emergency measure that became effective immediately upon being signed into law on May 5, 2021.
