AN ACT to provide a temporary retirement incentive for certain public employees (Part A); and to provide an age 55/25 years temporary retirement incentive for certain public employees (Part B)
AI Summary
This bill enacts two parts that provide temporary retirement incentives for certain public employees in New York. Part A allows eligible employees of participating employers to receive an additional one-twelfth of a year of retirement service credit for each year of service, up to a maximum of three years, if they retire during a specified open period. Part B eliminates early retirement reductions for Tier 2, 3, and 4 members of various New York public retirement systems who are at least age 55 with 25 years of service and retire during a specified open period. The costs of the incentives will be paid by the employers over a period of up to five years.
