This bill prohibits the adoption or implementation of "sanctuary policies" by state and local government entities and law enforcement agencies in Washington. It requires these entities to cooperate with federal immigration authorities, including by complying with immigration detainers, notifying federal agencies before releasing inmates, and providing access to inmates for interviews. The bill also requires judges to issue orders reducing the sentences of inmates subject to immigration detainers to facilitate their transfer to federal custody. Additionally, the bill provides for enforcement of these requirements through legal action by the state Attorney General.
