This bill amends existing law to provide program units for licensed school employees certified by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, rather than just teachers. The number of program units is determined by multiplying by one and a half the number of certified licensed school employees employed by the school district or charter school and verified by the Department of Education. The Department's approval of these units is contingent on the school district or charter school verifying that the certified employees are not currently in administrative positions and are receiving a one-time salary differential equal to or greater than the amount generated by the units. The provisions of this bill apply to the 2021-2022 school year and subsequent school years.
