This bill makes the following key changes: This bill amends the Nutrition and Dietetics Practice Act to clarify dietitian nutritionist and nutritionist licensure requirements. It provides a scope of practice for dietitian nutritionists and nutritionists, allowing them to provide medical nutrition therapy, order patient diets, and order related laboratory tests. The bill changes the composition and duties of the Nutrition and Dietetics Practice Board, including extending its sunset date to 2027. It also establishes biennial licensure fees, creates fines for violations, and provides exemptions from initial fees for active duty military and their spouses. Additionally, the bill provides title protection for "licensed dietitian nutritionist," "licensed nutritionist," "registered dietitian," and "certified nutrition specialist." Current licensed practitioners will not face additional licensure requirements under this bill.
