This bill amends the education law to require the administration and instruction in preparation of the TASC (Test Assessing Secondary Completion) examination in the Chinese and Korean languages for pupils who are proficient in these languages and have limited English proficiency. It directs the Commissioner of Education to ensure that school districts provide the TASC exam and related instructional materials in the Chinese or Korean language, and require districts to maintain records of students taking the exam in these languages and report such information to the Department of Education annually. The bill also authorizes the Commissioner to promulgate any necessary rules or regulations, including for contracting with the American Council on Education to develop appropriate testing materials.
