This bill appropriates $9 million in fiscal year 2021 from the general fund to the Commissioner of Human Services for emergency services grants to provide housing, purchase hygiene and cleaning supplies, and hire staff to protect the health and wellness of program recipients experiencing homelessness and exposed to COVID-19. It also appropriates $4.3 million to establish and maintain isolation spaces for suspected or confirmed COVID-19-positive individuals experiencing homelessness, and $4.2 million to increase room and board rates under the Housing Support program by 10.7% to maintain access and comply with health and safety guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic. These are one-time appropriations available until June 30, 2021, or 60 days after the expiration of the COVID-19 peacetime emergency, whichever occurs earlier.
