This bill specifies minimum continuing education requirements for administrator and teacher certificate renewals in Washington state. For administrator certificate renewals, 10% of the continuing education must focus on equity-based school practices, 10% on national professional standards for education leaders, and 5% on government-to-government relationships with federally recognized tribes. For teacher certificate renewals, 15% of the continuing education must focus on equity-based school practices. The continuing education must be provided by approved entities, such as the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, school districts, and educator preparation programs, with the exception of the education on government-to-government relationships, which must be provided by subject matter experts approved by the Governor's Office on Indian Affairs.
