Bill Summary
AN ACT to amend the alcoholic beverage control law, in relation to authorizing the issuance of a temporary retail permit by the state liquor authority to licensees located in a municipality having a population of one million or more persons
AI Summary
This bill amends the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law to authorize the New York State Liquor Authority to issue temporary retail permits to licensees located in municipalities with a population of one million or more persons. The bill removes the previous restriction that these temporary permits could only be issued to applicants for new retail licenses in municipalities with a population of less than one million. The changes made by this bill will take effect immediately but will be repealed when the broader section 97-a of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law is repealed.
