This bill amends the existing law to allow persons 75 years of age or older to be permanently exempted from jury service without requiring an affidavit. The bill also clarifies the definition of "undue or extreme physical or financial hardship" for being excused from jury service, which includes circumstances where jury service would require abandoning a dependent person, incur substantial costs, or result in physical hardship, but does not exist solely because the prospective juror would be absent from employment.
