This bill amends the Acequia and Community Ditch Fund Act to authorize the use of funds to provide assistance to acequias (traditional irrigation canals) and community ditches in implementing a negotiated settlement that was reached in an adjudication suit. The bill allows the fund to be used for expenses related to the settlement implementation, in addition to the existing uses for the adjudication process, such as historical studies, economic impact reports, expert witness fees, and legal fees. The bill also clarifies the composition of the committee that determines the allocation of funds to the eligible applicant associations.
