AI Summary

This bill would enact the "Georgia Family Medical Leave Act" to create a temporary family medical leave insurance program. The program would provide up to 6 weeks of wage replacement benefits to eligible individuals who take time off work due to their own disability or to care for a seriously ill family member or bond with a new child. The benefits would be funded through contributions by employees and employers, with the contribution rate set annually by the Commissioner of Labor. The bill establishes eligibility requirements, benefit amounts, and administrative procedures for the program. The bill will only take effect if a state constitutional amendment authorizing the dedicated funding source is approved by voters.
