This bill enacts the New York State Kratom Consumer Protection Act, which establishes labeling and other requirements for the sale of kratom products. The key provisions include: defining "kratom product" and other terms; requiring dealers to disclose the factual basis for their kratom product representations on the label; prohibiting the sale of adulterated, contaminated, or synthetic kratom products; prohibiting sales to minors; and imposing administrative fines and criminal penalties for violations. The bill also authorizes the Department of Agriculture and Markets to promulgate rules and regulations for the administration and enforcement of the Act.
