This bill establishes the New York State Volunteer Fire Protection Emergency Reimbursement Account, which will be used to reimburse volunteer fire companies, departments, districts, and non-profit emergency medical services for expenses related to procuring personal protective equipment (such as face shields, masks, and respirators) as well as for lost revenues due to municipal budget cuts or restrictions on public revenue-raising events during the state of emergency declared by the Governor. The reimbursements will be made upon application to the New York State Division of Homeland Security, which may require documentation. The provisions of this bill will expire one year after the expiration of the Governor's declared emergency.
