This bill adds to existing law to provide for the donation of liquor for benevolent, charitable, or public purposes. It allows liquor manufacturers, suppliers, or representatives to donate unopened, sealed liquor to entities without a liquor license, if the entity obtains a permit from the Idaho State Police Director. The permit application requires details like the event, sponsors, and quantities of liquor. The Director can issue a permit if they are satisfied the proceeds will be used for a benevolent, charitable, or public purpose. The bill also allows a licensed liquor-by-the-drink retailer to receive, store, and dispense the donated liquor on behalf of the permit holder. The Director can suspend, revoke or cancel the permit or the retailer's license if they violate the conditions or laws related to liquor sales.
