This bill allows persons to leave infants in "surrender safety devices" at safe haven sites, such as hospitals, fire stations, and law enforcement agencies, without facing criminal prosecution for abandonment or abuse of a child. The bill defines the requirements for these surrender safety devices, including that they must be located at and attached to a safe haven site, be continuously monitored and inspected, and have clear instructions and warnings.
