This Concurrent Resolution requests that various state law enforcement agencies, specifically the Department of the Attorney General, the Sheriff Division of the Department of Public Safety, and the Harbors Division of the Department of Transportation, work together with the Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE) of the Department of Land and Natural Resources to help DOCARE fulfill its important mission. DOCARE is responsible for enforcing laws that protect Hawaii's natural, cultural, and historic resources across state lands, parks, forests, and waters, but it faces challenges due to having a limited number of officers, which has led to instances of illegal activities and closures of public areas. The resolution aims to address this resource limitation by encouraging collaboration among these state entities to ensure these valuable resources are preserved for future generations.
