This bill requires the Secretary of Transportation to enter into an agreement with the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies to conduct a study on the actions needed to ensure that federal agencies are taking into account current and future climate conditions in planning, designing, building, operating, maintaining, investing in, and upgrading any federally funded transportation infrastructure investments. The study will provide recommendations on various aspects of making transportation infrastructure more climate-resilient, including integrating climate data into infrastructure planning, addressing information gaps, financing options, communication between experts and planners, stakeholder engagement, and the impacts on disproportionately exposed communities.
