This bill authorizes the town of Deerfield in Oneida County to transfer jurisdiction of a road to the state. Specifically, it allows the Commissioner of Transportation to assume jurisdiction for state highway purposes over a specified section of road parallel to State Route 8 and 12, including any pavement, shoulder area, drainage system, landscaping, curbs, and guiderail located on or adjacent to it. The bill also allows the Commissioner and the town to permanently close portions of the transferred highway that are unfit or unnecessary for travel due to flooding or erosion, provided that access to any affected properties is maintained. Furthermore, the transfer of jurisdiction is deemed to transfer all right, title, and interest in the highway to the state, and the state's acquisition of the property is deemed to be an acquisition pursuant to the Highway Law.
