This bill amends the social services law to ensure that individuals who had temporary protected status (TPS) or were enrolled in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program continue to receive Medicaid benefits even if the federal government ends these programs. Specifically, the bill prohibits the Department of Social Services from canceling, suspending, or rescinding Medicaid benefits for TPS and DACA recipients, and requires the Department to extend Medicaid eligibility to individuals who had previously held these statuses as long as they meet all other eligibility requirements.
