This bill eliminates the maximum age for taking the civil service examination for appointment as a police officer or as an environmental conservation officer. Specifically, it amends the Civil Service Law to remove the provision that limited the maximum age to 35 years for taking the written examination to become a police officer or environmental conservation officer. The bill also amends the Executive Law to remove the maximum age of 29 (with exceptions) for becoming a sworn member of the New York State Police.
