This bill amends existing Kansas laws to provide public employees and professional employees certain rights with respect to the withholding of public employee organization and professional employee organization dues. The key provisions include: - Allowing public and professional employees to immediately cease the withholding of organization dues from their wages upon submitting a written or emailed request to their employer, who must then notify the organization and stop the deductions. - Requiring annual renewal of authorizations for withholding of dues, and providing specific language that must be included in the authorization form to inform employees of their right to refrain from joining or financially supporting a union. - Clarifying that employees have the right to resign from and end any financial obligation to an employee or professional organization at any time, without waiver. - Specifying that deductions of dues to professional and public employee organizations are subject to the provisions of existing Kansas laws governing these organizations.
