This bill proposes to amend Georgia's election laws to provide for automatic voter registration in certain circumstances. Specifically, the bill requires certain state agencies and offices that collect voter information, such as the Department of Driver Services and Department of Natural Resources, to provide the Secretary of State with the name, age, residence address, citizenship data, and digital signature of individuals who meet the qualifications to register to vote. The Secretary of State will then automatically register these individuals to vote, and notify them of their registration. The bill also includes a provision preventing any person registered through this automatic process from casting an absentee ballot for the first 14 days after being registered.
